Mariam Kharaishvili holds Ph.D. in economic from Southern Methodist University (SMU), Dallas, Texas. She earned her Bachelor's degree in International Economic Relations from Tbilisi State University (2007) and her MA degrees in Economics from ISET (2009) and Southern Methodist University (2011). During her time at SMU, she won the Melody Rice Memorial Award based on excellence in academic achievement in Economics and in the University. Mariam’s main research interests include macroeconomics and finance. Mariam has many years of teaching experience. She has taught macroeconomics and price theory at SMU, Texas. She is currently working as a leading specialist in Financial Stability Department at National Bank of Georgia. Prior joining to NBG, she worked as a research assistant at Cox School of Business in Dallas, Texas.
