ISET is pleased to announce free training opportunities  for 4th year university students

ISET offers training sessions lasting two hours within four practical workshops in four different topics. The workshops are delivered in English by experienced and professional instructors, all to be held on Saturdays.

Each applicant is restricted to applying for only one preferred workshop. Participation is free of charge and is on a first-come first-served basis.

IMPORTANT: please note that upon submitting an application, you will be asked to fill in a short form and upload a document certifying that you are a 4th year student (a letter/statement from your university or a transcript).

How to Launch Your Startup

This practical workshop will be a walk-through into launching a new startup, from idea generation to building a sustainable company. 

Course Date: Saturday, March 30, 11 a.m.

Course Description

During the workshop "How to Launch Your Startup", students will be able to learn about the main ideas behind the startup ecosystem today, as well as its characteristics and differences from a traditional business. Through engaging group-work and simulations, they will act as startup founders to brainstorm ideas, develop business models and present their work in front of others.

How to use Excel in everyday life

This practical workshop will be a walk-through into introductory excel functions and simple scenario analysis.

Course Date: Saturday, April 6, 11 a.m.

Course Description

During the workshop "How to use EXCEL in everyday life", students will learn how to use EXCEL in to perform the calculations and analysis, as well as visualize data and information. Through an engaging workshop, they will be able to build a simple version of a complete financial document from a plethora of data. The course content will be the following:

  • Introductory Excel Functions;
  • Grouping and Sensitivity Analysis;
  • Scenario Analysis.

How to use R in Data Analysis

This practical workshop will help getting started on the path to analyzing common data structures with R and RStudio. No prior knowledge of R is required.

Course Date: Saturday, April 13, 11 a.m.

Course Description

During the workshop "How to use R in Data Analysis" students will master using R and RStudio for basic data analysis, extracting key statistics out of a data set, exploring a data set with basic graphics, and reshaping data to make it easier to analyze.

How to use STATA in Data Analysis

This practical workshop will train how to use statistical software STATA to implement data analysis in practice. No prior knowledge of STATA is required.

Course Description

During the workshop "How to use STATA in Data Analysis" students will become familiarized with the STATA interface, as well as how to import data to STATA, compute statistics, construct graphical displays, and compute new variables and transformations.
