For the third year in a row, ISET BA economics students have won the prestigious “Fund Challenge” from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). ISET Policy Institute, thanks to the financial support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is launching the series of training in Green Economy for Journalists and students. The main objective of this initiative is to increase the capacity of Georgian journalists to understand and discuss policy challenges associated with the development of a greener, circular economy, climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as concrete energy and environmental policies adopted by the Georgian government. On Friday, 15 October, ISET and the German Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) jointly hosted an expert digital workshop on Implementing climate change-topics in higher education in Georgia: experiences, needs, and potential for future collaboration. Climate change has lately been attracting growing societal and political attention, but it has also been gaining traction as a topic within academic programs. For the second consecutive year ISET's BA Program in Economics ranked No. 1 among every economics and business programs in Georgia, based on the NAEC scores. BA program was launched in 2017 and the initial cohort of BA students numbered 50. Since 2019 ISET’s BA Program in economics annually admits 150 students. It’s also a tradition that almost every student in every intake receives a state grant. In 2021, 94% of freshmen admitted to the program come with either a 100% or 70% state grant.
