About the Program

Each year, ISET enrolls students from throughout the region and internationally. The program is taught during evening hours, which offers working professionals the opportunity to study while working. The program is taught exclusively in English, by international professors from top western universities.

The program of study includes a major research component. In their second year at ISET, students may choose to specialize in a specific sub-field of economics. They can join different concentrations.

In addition to regular coursework, students in a particular concentration go through summer internships and conduct writing projects on topics of relevance to their field of study.

98% of ISET graduates (with the exception of those studying abroad) are currently employed in professional and analytical positions. While the monthly income of ISETers is four times higher than the average salary in Georgia. ISET graduates have gone on to pursue PhDs at some of the world’s best universities – with full funding – including Stanford University, the University of Chicago, New York University, Washington University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Warwick, and the University of Leicester, among others.

Every year, up to 20 of our graduates receive Teaching Fellowships from the CERGE-EI Foundation to teach undergraduate economics courses at partner universities in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. These Teaching Fellowships allow ISET graduates to earn a competitive salary while gaining professional experience as economics teachers and giving back to their communities. All Teaching Fellows receive intensive pedagogical training in Prague.

Graduates receive a Master of Economics diploma from ISET/TSU.  ISET master’s degree program is officially accredited by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA), a quality assurance agency for higher education and a member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).
