ISET strives to attract students from around the world and competitively selects them on the basis of merit. Admission to the program is open to anyone holding an undergraduate diploma from an accredited institution of higher education.
The admission season at ISET for the 2024-2025 academic year is commencing on February 1:
Application deadline: 1 pm, June 23, 2024.
Admissions exams: June 29, 2024.
In case you have been admitted to any internationally acknowledged economics MA program in Europe or North America, but decide to continue your studies in ISET, subject to presentation of respective universities’ admissions letter ISET waives you from its internal admission exams.
Each applicant is considered by ISET with great care. We’ll guide you through the application process and answer any questions you have along the way.
ISET accepts local, regional and international students; however, the application process for these three groups differs slightly:
Local (Georgian) Students
Admission Process
For Local (Georgian) Applicants the admission process consists of three main stages:
(1) online submission of full application package,(2) successfully passing General Skills Examination held by NAEC,(3) successfully passing exams in English and mathematics organized by ISET.
(1) Online Submission of a Full Application Package
- Complete an application form.
- Upload a statement of purpose - a one or two-page essay explaining your motivation to study economics and how a master's degree in economics is related to your career goals and intellectual interests (in PDF format).
- Upload diplomas and transcripts from previously attended educational programs (BA/MA Degrees or equivalent). If the documents are not in English, please provide translated versions. All documents should be scanned and attached in PDF format.
- Upload your GRE or GMAT scores, if any.
(2) NAEC Exams
(3) Admission Exams in English and Mathematics
- The English exam assesses reading comprehension. All questions will be in multiple choice format similar to that of the reading comprehension sections of the TOEFL exam, which can be found online at http://www.ets.org/.
- The mathematics exam assesses basic mathematical knowledge, thinking, and problem-solving skills. It covers topics from basic algebra, basic mathematics of finance and basic calculus (see the topics). The exam consists of two separate parts. Math 1 is similar to the quantitative section of the GRE General Test. It tests general problem-solving abilities. Math 2 is similar to the GRE Mathematics Subject Test. Admission Process
For Regional Applicants (from Armenia and Azerbaijan) the admission process consists of three main stages:
(1) online submission of full application package,(2) successfully passing exams in English and mathematics organized by ISET,(3) attending interview with the ISET Admissions Committee.

- Upload copy of English language certificate: TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson / PTE or other.
- Upload your GRE or GMAT scores, if any.
(2) Admission Exams in English and Mathematics
