A memorandum of cooperation has recently been signed between ISET Policy Institute, the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), and the Elizbar Eristavi Energy Training Center.

The agreement was signed by the director of the ISET Policy institute, Tamar Sulukhia, the Chairman of GNERC, Davit Narmania, and the Director of the ENTC, Nugzar Beridze.

The goal of such cooperation is to implement joint educational research and other projects in the electricity, natural gas, and water supply sectors - those which raise public awareness of relevant issues, and plan and implement other joint activities.

GNERC's chairman, Davit Narmania, kindly gave a public lecture to ISET students on issues of energy and water supply regulation.

Mr. Narmania introduced the students to various results and perspectives of ongoing activities, discussed current processes in regulated sectors, and then focused on the current reforms in the field of electric energy, tariff regulation, and the protection of consumer rights.

On June 2, 2022, the International School of Economics at TSU alongside the ISET Policy Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Georgian Center for Strategy and Development (GCSD).

The key aims of the memorandum are to support ISET students to broaden their qualifications and develop professional skills via work practice and internships at GCSD, develop and execute joint projects, and share experience and knowledge between the parties in the field of scientific and applied research.

Georgian Center for Strategy and Development (GCSD) is a non-governmental organization. GCSD is one of the top independent think tanks in the country, objective of which includes supporting Georgia’s national security, strengthening the principles of effective and democratic governance of the country; supporting its European and Euro-Atlantic integration and creating the conditions for Georgia’s sustainable development.

ISET is confident that cooperation between the two organizations will be productive and valuable.

Tamar Sulukhia, the ISET Director, and Gogita Todradze, the Director of GeoStat, have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the International School of Economics at TSU (ISET), ISET’s Policy Institute, and the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

Consequently, current and future ISET students will undergo internships at GeoStat, and this opportunity will undoubtedly broaden their knowledge and improve their practical skills. According to Gogita Todradze, GeoStat considers such cooperation with higher education institutions to be vital. He believes that this partnership will not only promote the active involvement of students in GeoStat’s research, but that it will also enable the agency to create outstanding employment prospects for equally outstanding students.
