David Tarr
Consultant and Former Lead Economist, the World BankDr. David G. Tarr is a former Lead Economist with the World Bank. Dr. Tarr has worked in 30 countries providing trade policy advice on a wide range of trade policy issues. He has authored more than 70 refereed journal articles, written or edited 14 books or monographs and over 100 other professional papers. His solely authored articles include articles in leading journals such as Econometrica, Review of Economic Studies, Quarterly Journal of Economics and Journal of International Economics. Google Scholar shows that he has an H index of 47 as of September 2018.
Dr. Tarr has written extensively on trade policy in the countries of the former Soviet Union, especially on WTO accession and regional integration issues. He wrote the Trade Policy Strategic Action Plan for 2013-2017, adopted by the Ministers of the ten country Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation. Among his on-going projects he is doing an assessment of the regional integration initiatives of the Eurasian Economic Union on its five member countries; and analysis of trade for development in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
