Mariam Kharaishvili
Invited LecturerMariam Kharaishvili is a head of Macrofinancial Modeling and Analysis Division at the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), an invited lecturer at ISET and a co-head of the Ph.D. program in Economics at Caucasus University. Mariam has a Ph.D. in economics from Southern Methodist University (SMU), Dallas, Texas, USA, as well as MA degrees in economics from the International School of Economics in Tbilisi, Georgia (ISET, 2009) and Southern Methodist University (2011). During her time at SMU, she won the Melody Rice Memorial Award for her academic achievements in economics. Mariam teaches different economics subjects at the BA, MA, and Ph.D. levels at different universities in Georgia. Mariam has been actively involved in the development of the Sustainable Finance (SF) Framework at the National Bank of Georgia since 2017 and has made a significant contribution to the NBG’s SF projects. Her main duties at the NBG include conducting analytical work, analyzing financial stability, and developing a sustainable finance framework. Mariam’s primary research interests include macroprudential policies, macrofinancial modeling, and sustainable finance.
