Shalva Mkhatrishvili
Invited LecturerShalva is the Head of Macroeconomic Research Division at the National Bank of Georgia, where he supervises development and maintenance of macroeconomic models used for forecasting and policy analysis as well as writing relevant research papers. At the same time, Shalva is also a Technical Advisor of the International Monetary Fund, where he, as a short-term expert, takes part in IMF technical missions that help central banks of different countries in macroeconomic modeling. In addition, he has several years of teaching experience at various Georgian universities.
Shalva holds a Master of Science degree in Economics from Humboldt University of Berlin and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Tbilisi State University. His research interests include monetary economics, financial intermediation and macro-financial modeling. His most recent papers are:
