Tina Akhvlediani
Invited LecturerDr. Tinatin Akhvlediani earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Warsaw, along with Master’s degrees in International Economics from the same university and European Economic Studies from the College of Europe. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics. Her academic pursuits were supported through various scholarships, including the ENP Scholarship from the European Commission, the Erasmus-Mundus Scholarship, a merit scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), a joint merit scholarship from the Open Society Foundation and Central European University, the Stefan Banach PhD Scholarship from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, research scholarships from Indiana University, University of Vienna, and University of Shanghai, a four-year tuition waiver from the Ministry of Education of Georgia, and a scholarship from the President of Georgia for outstanding students.
Currently, Dr. Akhvlediani serves as a Research Fellow in the EU Foreign Policy Unit at CEPS, where she specializes in the EU’s enlargement, neighborhood, and trade policies, with a particular focus on the EU’s Eastern neighborhood and Ukraine. In 2023, she was acknowledged among the most prominent and promising women in the EU, alongside notable figures such as the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. Moreover, her contributions to the field of social sciences earned her a place on Forbes Georgia’s “30 Under 30” list in 2020.
Dr. Akhvlediani teaches the Economics of Eurointegration course for undergraduate students starting from the spring semester of 2024.
