On July 20, 2024, the Grand Royal Ballroom of the Tbilisi Biltmore Hotel buzzed with excitement as 142 graduates from the ISET BA and MA classes of 2024 gathered to celebrate their hard-earned achievements. The ceremony marked by the arrival of distinguished guests and a warm welcome from the host.

For the fourth consecutive year ISET BA Program in Economics ranks as #1 among all business, economics and finance programs in Georgia based on the NAEC scores.

This means that students enrolled in ISET have the highest results of performance at National Entrance Exams. Furthermore, over 98% of freshmen have a state grant. A total of 148 new students out of 150 have won government grants.

ISET is proud that top-scoring students choose our Bachelor’s program in Economics.

ISET students have won the latest "Fund Challenge" from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

This competition is held globally, and students from Economics Bachelor's programs across MCD-based universities in 32 countries took part.

This year's winners are Nino Maghradze and Elene Kachkachishvili, both students from ISET's Bachelor's program in Economics.

For ISET, success in the "Fund Challenge" has become a kind of tradition, as our students have now won this competition four years in a row.

On 10 July, the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET) hosted its 2022 Diploma Award Ceremony for graduates from the 2021-2022 Economics Bachelor's and Master's Programs.

ISET's 2022 graduation ceremony was particularly special because, alongside graduates of the Master's program, diplomas were also awarded to the very first graduates on the Bachelor of Economics course.

After a two-year forced pause during the pandemic, both first and second generation Bachelor’s graduates attended the event together.

The Director of ISET and ISET’s Policy Institute, Tamar Sulukhia, Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, George Sharvashidze, and Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Koba Gvenetadze, each congratulated our graduates during their speeches.

Guests at the ceremony also witnessed four inspirational valedictorian speeches, and watched a total of 174 students graduate.

This is just the beginning of many successful careers for our alumni, and ISET wishes them all the best in their future lives.

For the third year in a row, ISET BA economics students have won the prestigious “Fund Challenge” from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The student competition is held worldwide and involves students in economics undergraduate programs from 35 countries.

With ISET students having won the IMF competition for three consecutive years, we’re proud to note: "Our team is constantly committed to the professional development and success of students, and we are pleased with the results."

The award-winning project came from Nino Sarishvili and Meri Julakidze, fourth year students in ISET’s economics BA program. Within the competition, they presented an analysis of the Brazilian economy, as one of the competing countries.

As a result, the winners attended several events organized by the IMF and moreover were introduced to employment opportunities at the Fund.

For the second consecutive year ISET's BA Program in Economics ranked No. 1 among every economics and business programs in Georgia, based on the NAEC scores.

BA program was launched in 2017 and the initial cohort of BA students numbered 50. Since 2019 ISET’s BA Program in economics annually admits 150 students. It’s also a tradition that almost every student in every intake receives a state grant. In 2021, 94% of freshmen admitted to the program come with either a 100% or 70% state grant.

Despite only having been launched in 2017, ISET's BA Program in Economics has been ranked No. 1 among every economics program in Georgia since its inception. In addition, in the most recent iteration of the rankings, the BA Program retained its first-place position, but was also rated more highly than business education programs.
