Assistant Professor of Economics/Finance

Position title: Assistant Professor of Economics/Finance.

Job start date: Summer 2024.

The International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University invites applications for the Assistant Professor position. Applicants from all fields of Economics and Finance will be considered. The position is open to all nationalities; knowledge of Georgian is not required as all academic activities, including teaching, are conducted in English.

Requirements and qualifications:

Candidates must:

  • Hold a Ph.D. degree in Economics or Finance from internationally ranked university or
  • Expect to receive Ph.D. by June 2024.
  • The successful candidate is expected to provide evidence of high-quality research (published or) publishable in highly rated peer-reviewed journals.

Major duties include:

  • Teaching in ISET’s Economics MA and BA programs and/or Finance MA program
  • Supervising student thesis research;
  • Conducting research
  • Assuming other roles as faculty member

Salary range: Very competitive Georgian academic salary.

Fundraising Consultant

Title: Fundraising Consultant.

Application deadline: 12 pm, December 20, 2023.

Specific tasks of the consultant include:

  • Contribute to the development of a short-to-medium term fundraising plan;
  • Identify potential new donors (institutions and individuals, globally and locally) and develop matching funding case;
  • Based on existing projects, lead development of high quality proposals;
  • Contribute to the communication materials;
  • Preparing donor outreach proposals and participate in donor outreach (message, etc).

Deliverables:

  • A mapping of potential donors (private companies, local and international, foundations, bilateral institutions, individuals); A comprehensive list of donors with their contact information and funding priorities prepared
  • A written short to medium-term fundraising plan
  • Donor proposals depending on identified opportunities
  • Prepare Communication/marketing materials (textual part) for School’s visibility and fundraising events/campaigns/meetings
  • Together with ISET Director participation in actual outreach /meetings with donors

Profile

  • Proven successful track record in fundraising in non-profit sector - Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in raising funds, working with donors, particularly in international development
  • Experience in writing funding proposals and building relations with donors
  • Close familiarity with local and international higher education systems and the mission of university
  • Close familiarity with the work on think-tanks
  • Experience and ability to conduct collaborative work sessions in a multicultural environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Georgian language
  • Sound knowledge of institutional and private sector donors
  • Drive for results
